Selenite is a variety of gypsum that is usually white but can be colored by impurities and inclusions. Most commonly a cloudy white, selenite can also be as clear as a freshly washed window. Selenite crystals can grow incredibly large and, in the right environment, can reach 12 meters long and weigh 55 tons.
